We Start Accepting Volunteer Submissions for the 2012 Session at the Stables

Volunteers should be a minimum of sixteen years old, physically fit, and have their own transportation to and from the Stables.  Knowledge and experience in riding and tacking is mandatory for counselors.  Most schools will give community service credit for the hours you spend at the Stables.  Potential counselors should indicate whether they can be at the Stables 24 hours a day.  Food, laundry service, and lodging will be provided.  Three male and three female counselors will be chosen for overnight duty for each session.  Please review the Events calendar and specify which sessions you will be available.  Counselors must volunteer for a minimum of one ten day session.

A physician is required to be on hand to administer medicine and attend to minor injuries or emergency events.  Please specify if you can be on site for 24 hours a day or would prefer a 12 hour day or night shift.  Food, lodging, and laundry service will be provided.  One physician will be required for each session, and volunteers should specify which session they could attend.

Adult volunteers should state if they have special talents such as singing or playing a musical instrument.  They should be physically fit and may be asked to assist in the barn and residence.  Food can be furnished by the Stables at $25 per day or volunteers can bring their own.  A shift will be from 9:00AM to 9:00 PM.  Please state the session you could be available and whether you would want to be on site for the first, second half, or the entire shift.

The Beginning of Our Spring Fundraising Drive

Our Spring fundraising campaign will be a national effort to raise funds to operate Foundation programs and upgrade our facilities.  Volunteers should specify if they can organize a local effort in their home town or provide some other service such as publicity, media or print exposure.

Environment Enrichment Month

April 1st, 2012

Owners of nurseries who may be interested in contributing to the beautification of the Stables should submit their ideas or the dollar amount they can contribute.  Individuals may do the same, specifying whether you are interested in providing funds for annuals or long term perennial items such as trees or bushes.
