Our Board of Directors

In keeping with other innovative non-profits, Legend's Silhouette Stables Foundation's Board of Directors is comprised of a small number of dedicated individuals deeply involved with the daily activities of the foundation. This helps the foundation make timely, well-informed decisions instead of preparing detailed briefs for those less familiar with the foundation's and Legend's needs.

Rosalyn Irvin

Rosalyn E. Irvin – Director

Villa Julie College; Towson State University

Rosalyn Irvin coordinates our pediatric and life care specialist volunteers, drawing on her own experience as a volunteer and as a public and private school teacher. Her teaching experience brings us invaluable insight into children's thought processes and social, spiritual and developmental needs. Her own family experience has made her a committed volunteer. In memory of her brother, she has long been active in fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and other charities for sick children. She also volunteers for the Blakehurst Retirement Community, where she works to encourage family and caregiver interaction to enhance residents' social and spiritual well-being, and for Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church and its day school.

Elizabeth Southall

Elizabeth Southall – Director

Elizabeth Southall, who provides invaluable direction for the Legend's operations and budget, brings the foundation deep, diverse knowledge of both equine development and children's needs. A University of Maryland graduate who also studied at England's Talland School of Equitation, she holds British Horse Society Certification and has served as an instructor and director at several American riding schools, including Oldfield's School and McDonogh School. She is currently Director of Riding and a coach, teacher and advisor at St. Timothy's School. She is active in St. John's Episcopal Church in Worthington Valley.

Kelly Zink's professional accomplishments in marketing and sales bring the foundation essential fundraising skills. She has won numerous sales performance awards and orchestrated sustainable market strategies to engage customers and prospects in competitive markets. She intuitively evaluates market trends, segment dynamics, internal branding, promotion, public relations, Internet tactics and asset resource application. She has developed and now oversees a foundation market strategy integral to its corporate goals. Year-round, she volunteers for the Calvert School and is a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. In the summer, she works 24 hours a day as mentor and surrogate parent to sick children at the Stables.

Lehigh University
As a land developer, builder and industrial contractor, Thomas Zink has completed more than 30 projects in a three-state area, including some of Maryland's largest. His entrepreneurial spirit and business expertise have helped him craft the foundation's vision, mission, goals and strategic plans and manage their implementation. He has defined the foundation's short-, medium-, and long-term plans incorporating cost/benefit analysis and human resource evaluation to ensure their effectiveness, and has assembled a management team reflecting the highest level of proficiency, ethics, and integrity. During the summer he works with his wife Kelly as a surrogate parent to -- and invigorating coach for -- children at Legend's. He is also a member of the Second Presbyterian Church.
