Legend's Silhouette Stables Foundation, Inc. is a Maryland non-stock 501(c)(3) corporation classified as a public charity. It was founded by Kelly and Tom Zink, who fought a long battle of their own against a child’s illness.

Over a year of exhaustive research and contact with other parents, Tom and Kelly saw a need for one foundation that could help children and families address the unique, complex challenges of life-threatening childhood illness.

They created Legend's Silhouette Stables Foundation whose mission is to inspire children with serious illness to take control of their lives through optimism and a disciplined work ethic, to help them handle challenges better and renew their self-esteem, self-confidence and hope.

The Legend’s riding camp and equine therapy provide a nurturing, fun environment with compassion and empathy, encouraging the children to embrace nature, build character, and use creativity to vanquish depression, restore their dignity and reclaim joy in their lives.

The foundation also educates families to help improve children’s physical and emotional conditions and, when possible, save their lives.

The foundation and its founders honor God, family and country, firm in the belief that sick children are part of America’s family, that helping these children is an act of both faith and patriotism.
